COMPLAINTS/DISPUTES

We have the following complaint/dispute mechanisms.

  • • Complaints: Anyone may file a formal complaint against an APEX Member website or its representative for violation of the APEX pledge, APEX Mission Statement or for conduct otherwise deemed to be unethical. The complainant need not be a representative of an APEX Member website.
  • • Disputes: Two or more parties involved in a dispute which concerns ethical behaviour on the Internet may request that APEX settle the matter for them if they agree to abide by the final decision of APEX on the matter. The parties involved need not be representatives of APEX Member websites.
  • • If, as the owner of an APEX Member web site, you are involved in a dispute/complaint with the owner of another website and you require our assistance please read carefully our APEX Complaints/Disputes process document then use our contact form to communicate with our Director of Disputes including all relevant information, including third-party messages, in your message.

Childrens Privacy

  • In order to comply with “The Children's Online Privacy Protection Rule” (COPPA), we never collect or maintain personal information at our website from those we actually know are under 13, and no part of our website is structured to attract anyone under 13. Under the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act, “personal information” is defined as individually identifiable information such as a first and last name, a home or other physical address including street name and city or town, an e-mail address, a telephone number, a Social Security number or persistent identifiers such as customer or processor serial numbers held in a cookie where the identifier is associated with individually identifiable information.

Data collected here will be used for the administration of APEX activities and may include individually identifiable information such as name and email address. At the user's option, we may also collect the following data:

The following explanation is provided for why this data is collected:

Information is collected via the APEX application form where the visitor formally states his/her desire to join the organization, providing through this method individually identifiable information such as name, email address, website URL and country of origin.

Cookies

Cookies are a technology which can be used to provide you with tailored information from a Web site. A cookie is an element of data that a Web site can send to your browser which may then store it on your system. You can set your browser to notify you when you receive a cookie, giving you the chance to decide whether to accept it.

We do not make use of HTTP cookies.
